Concept Printed Circuit Board

The Problem

A Printed Circuit Board (PCB) supports and electrically connects electronic components using conductive tracks and other features etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate. Electrical wires are fixed onto the board, connecting a central processor to other components such as capacitors, resistors or active devices. Almost all electronic devices contain one or more printed circuits boards. This client required the design of a prototype PCB to test their ideas and ascertain the overall dimensions and resulting cost.

The Approach

In-house software was utilised to design and virtually test the prototype PCB circuit. Once the initial circuit was designed and simulated, any necessary alterations to the completed circuit could be made quickly and efficiently and then be exported to obtain a PCB layout and output of manufacturing data.

The Result

The design and specification of integrated Printed Circuit Boards intended for R&D purposes, visualisation and proof of concept was successful. The client was able to obtain the information they required quickly and efficiently. The PCB was finalised and went on to be manufactured shortly afterwards.
